Chrissie Swan Launches 2015 Reading Hour with Special Family Story Time at Toorak Library

Join Chrissie Swan, our 2015 National Ambassador, at a fun story time session at Toorak Library, on Tuesday 18 August at 4.30pm to celebrate the launch of this year’s Reading Hour.

Chrissie will be reading some of her favourite children’s books to kids, mums and dads to encourage families to pick up a book and share the love of storytelling. The Reading Hour aims to encourage everyone to pick up and share a book for 10 minutes a day and enjoy the gift of reading.

Better Reading have now launched Better Reading Kids, headed up by former Allen & Unwin children’s books director, Liz Bray. There’s a separate Better Reading Kids facebook page, specifically focusing on great stories for young readers. If you're a parent, carer, teacher or librarian you'll find plenty on this page to interest you.

We are delighted to announce that Chrissie Swan, one of Australia’s most loved TV personalities, is our National Ambassador for 2015.

Chrissie is a radio and TV broadcaster, and is also an author, columnist and fashion label ambassador. She has been an ambassador for CARE Australia since 2010.

In 2011, she was a Gold Logie nominee and Silver Logie winner. In 2013, Chrissie launched her own plus-sized fashion range and published her first book, Is It Just Me? Confessions of an Over-Sharer...
